frequently asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Some questions arise about Yoga in general, about (one's own) practice, about spirituality, about personal things. I have compiled some of them here. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions!
What is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic, powerful, but also calm, deep and meditative style of Yoga. Through our breath we surrender to the moving or static postures. We move on a journey through the most diverse phases, in body, mind, energies and above all always in the heart. We challenge, but don't overwhelm. We work out with uplifting music and then go into deep silence. We meditate and sing. We live life!
What does it do?
In Kundalini Yoga, all our bodies are equally important. We're talking about ten - spiritual, mental, physical, emotional and energetic. We release tension and blocks that are stuck in the physical body. This moves energies in the meridians and it flows again! In that moment we go through to our emotions and mind. We change the way we think and act. We are becoming more neutral, more open to perspective, more free, more relaxed! This has an effect on our mental health because we feel ourselves more again. Our connection to ourselves and to the divine is strengthened again.
What is it doing to my physical body?
Our physical body is our temple in which we spend this life as beings. We can nurture and cherish him and be good to him. Be it outdoors with the right applications. Or inside through Yoga and Meditation. Kundalini Yoga purifies the physical body. We bring deposits out of him. A first step towards more flexibility. This releases blocks, tension and nervousness. This in turn gives us more flexibility. A cycle with a regular practice.
In Kundalini Yoga we have Kriyas and Meditations for all areas of the body. Nervous system, glandular system, organs, blood, brain, digestion, mobility, spine, hips, eyes, ... . An all-encompassing collection for a healthy, powerful and balanced body.
What is it doing to me mentally and emotionally?
Today's world challenges us more and more mentally and emotionally. There is a risk that we will be influenced from outside, the impressions will become too strong and the pressure will deform us internally. We can learn to distance ourselves from our inner life in order to give it more space so that we can live more freely and easily. We gain clarity, awareness and the inner stillness and balance that serve our lives.
In Kundalini Yoga we have Kriyas and Meditations on our mind and emotional bodies. All areas of the mind, our emotional world and our feelings, focus, concentration, creativity, heart opening, ... are addressed. An all-encompassing collection for a balanced mind and stable emotional inner life.
How does it affect my energies?
We are more than our bodies and minds. We are made of particles - energy! Everything is based on her! And so, with strong, balanced energy bodies, we can influence how our inner and outer lives develop! Do we feel energetic or tired? Does it flow or stagnate? What are we radiating? What do we wear? How do we project? How do we differentiate ourselves? Together we dive into the energies of our being, the planet and the universe! Together we experience the Kundalini, the life force within us, our courage, our love!
For this purpose, Kundalini Yoga offers Kriyas and Meditations for all of our energetic bodies. Soul, Aura, Subtle Body, Arc Line, Chakras, Kundalini. An all-encompassing collection for an energetic, lively and joyful existence!
What am I feeling mentally?
Technology, Internet, Robotics, AI. Many areas are moving away from the nature of our being. We flee into artificial worlds and imaginations. We look there for solutions and even healing. We are looking for the identity! ChatGPT will not give us the answer! She is in us! Everything is already there!
In Kundalini Yoga we have Kriyas and Meditations available for our deeper perception of ourselves and our soul. They establish our connection to divinity, the universe, creation! An all-encompassing collection for self-knowledge!
How can it support me in life?
After a certain period of practice you will feel the first changes. Usually after the first lesson or even the first exercise! It doesn't matter whether you are looking for more physical support that also challenges, moves and grounds you - you want to try an energetically working yoga style - or whether you simply want to relax and have fewer thoughts. Yesterday, tomorrow, others, myself, the same thing over and over again!
If you have the feeling that you want to step out of any (inner or outer) circle, you will be able to gain new insights and changes. They subtly pave their way - always with love for you. Whatever moves you to come, you will experience the effect with an open heart!
Can it help me with stress?
Yes absolutely! Kundalini Yoga is made for our time! The Kriyas (exercise series), Meditations, Pranayamas (breathing techniques) and Mantras are designed to support us in these challenging times! Hundreds of them, a real treasure at our disposal.
Much of this is created for our nervous system, glands, blood, sleep, subconscious, mind. Because most of the stress is created within us. In all honesty, we can recognize that most triggers for stress are only triggers for something inside of us, which then causes stress. We therefore have the opportunity to directly influence and change. We relax and strengthen at the same time - we balance our parts and bodies!
Is Kundalini Yoga Very Spiritual?
Kundalini Yoga consciously guides us into the process of life in order to awaken in us what we are allowed to experience and learn in life. It is the experiment of becoming the observer of our own self and aligning one's consciousness with infinity. It is the experience that the treasure chest of wisdom, intuition and compassion is always within us, ready to be opened. This is what we mean by Spirituality!
We feel in our beliefs, patterns, personalities, in our behavior inside and outside. We experience our true core, our inner infinite world, which we can offer to the outside world as a gift. Each of us is unique and beautiful in a very special way!
And the singing?
YES YES YES! YES YES! Absolutely! What a magical experience! The moods, qualities, cognitions, feelings, perceptions, deep meditations, joy and dance! MUSIC!
At first I was totally shocked! I really sang mantras for the first time in my Teacher Training. With guitar, vocals, drums, whatever! Little by little I got involved with it and it became an integral part of my life today. I listen to them, use them for Yoga and Meditation. Sing and play music with them. Celebrate music and love with others!
We're celebrating! Always! I invite you to this! Make the experience and open yourself to new things! If you have reservations, please contact me. And if you're curious, just read a little into the mantras!
Should I be afraid of being bewitched?
No! You do not have to! There is no strict organization and no effects of the exercises to justify such a judgement. Kundalini Yoga can be practiced by everyone, regardless of religion or belief. The effects of Kundalini Yoga arise from personal Yoga practice, but not from the adoption of any beliefs. Kundalini Yoga is not understood and conveyed by me as the only way, but as a complementary way to more health, balance and self-determination. I see it as a wonderful technique that can support us to live and be happy and peaceful.
Can I also practice for myself?
With all my heart! To take responsibility for oneself, to build up a regular practice, a Sadhana, and thereby really experience what is possible, already there! This is a wonderful experience! It moves our hearts and inspires! I'm happy to give you ideas or we can set up a practice together in a private class! Another step can be the Kundalini Yoga Awakening Teacher Training. It's time to become our own true Teachers!
What do I need for the practice?
In Kundalini Yoga it is recommended to wear light cotton clothing that allows perspiration to be absorbed. Synthetic fabrics prevent this. Feel free to use a special Yoga mat to have the necessary support, especially when doing exercises while standing. Use a pillow to sit comfortably and straight. And to rest gently during the deep relaxation, a blanket and possibly thick, warm socks are helpful. Water is essential for life, so drink enough of it during it.
Mats, seat cushions and blankets are provided in the regular yoga classes. Tea is served free of charge. If you prefer to use your utensils, feel free to bring them with you!
Also make sure not to eat anything about 1 1/2-2 hours before. After that you can do this in peace. A yoga practice under the influence of drugs or alcohol is not possible and I advise against it for your private yoga practice.
What is tuning in and out?
Many are initially shocked by the tuning in and out of the Yoga classes. However, it is a wonderful experience to allow yourself to open up and let the sounds and words resonate.
We start with three Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo. This means that we connect with our divine Teacher within, the wisdom. It is followed by three "Aad Gure Namee, Dschugad Gure Namee, Sat Gure Namee, Siri Guru Dev-e Namee". With this mantra, we cherish the original wisdom from the heart. It reminds us that we are always guided and accompanied. We are protected!
At the end we sing the song "May the long time sun shine upon you. All love surround you. And the pure light within you. Guide your way on" and end with three to four "Sat Nam". To remind us that the truth is our identity - not the illusion.
Through this frame we enter a special space in our hearts. We consciously open ourselves to an experience and, above all, to ourselves. We ONLY allow ourselves time for ourselves! As a sign of appreciation and love for us!
What should I consider as a woman?
Basically every body is individual and perfect! There is no evaluation of what works or not. However, there are certain recommendations for the yoga practice of pregnant women or in menstruation. These range from postures, breathing, intensity to nutrition, special wonderful meditations or the lunar cycle of femininity.
During periods of menstruation, it is recommended that no inversions, abdominal exercises, or fire breathing are done. If you are pregnant, please contact me in good time in confidence, as there are also restrictions and recommendations!
What should I consider as a man?
Yoga is not a sportive competition. And no women's sport either! It is the deepest experience you can possibly have for yourself! So take it easy, challenging but not overwhelming. Nobody demands perfectionism from you! You don't have to compare yourself! Nobody but you can rate you - so let it be the same! You don't have to let the tough one out! Power and strength come in endless variations! By the way, this applies to all genders!!!
Get to know new aspects of yourself that will make you the perfect man and person! Let your manly heart beat and live! You will awaken energies that you have not known before! Our time today needs these qualities, just as it needs all the others. Let's do our part! Love us!
Is it healthy for me?
Young, old big, small! Who cares? You dare! I am happy if you approach the Yoga practice with enthusiasm, but I recommend that you weigh up your options before you practice Kundalini Yoga.
If you have an injury or illness and you have doubts as to whether Yoga is suitable for you, please do not hesitate to contact your doctor or naturopath. Do not aggravate existing injuries.
At Pregnancy, the revenue from prescription drugs or knowing physical or psychological complaints a prior clarification with the personal doctor regarding the Yoga practice can be helpful. I am also happy if you turn to me in confidence and if I know about it.
